Taking the writings of the late Samir Kassir on the Arab Nahda as a starting point, this collaboration initiated in late 2018 between Neumarkt Theatre and Station finds itself, with the uprisings in Lebanon and elsewhere, suddenly in the whirlwind of worldwide discontent. From an erstwhile-engaged staged performance, the project is now morphing in response to the real-life revolutionary urgency. The international team of artists and dramaturges are examining the concept of Awakenings (Nahda) and the correlations between Uprisings, creative protest and the role of art to influence societal change.
